A remote heritage

Apothicairerie de LouhansThe parmaceutic pratice appeared in civilizations from very ancient times.

Its codified form was placed under the authority of the God of Medecine and the preparation of medicines was the result of cultural and magical rituals.

The three natural orders, mineral, vegetable and animal, were already present in the making of medecines.

This knowledge was recorded in numerous treaties, by authors such as Hippocrates and Galen.

This science, known from medieval Arab physicians, followed a long way to the West, where it has developped ever since.
