Bequeathed by Anne Melun, benefactress of the Hotel-Dieu, the jewel of the pharmacopoeia of the time, recalls the atmosphere that prevailed in these places. Fitted to 1675, the hospital pharmacy was still active in the 1940s. Over 650 pieces of furniture based on Louis XIII which more than 140 Sileni, cylindrical boxes in chestnut used for storage of drugs.
All rare, these boxes are painted with foliage and flowers forming a cartridge in which is inscribed the name simple. Always up for years, contents of each box is waiting patiently for the arrival of the apothecary nun ... |
